My Trip to Fort Yukon

So, I was commissioned to paint a mural of smerfs in the waiting room of a dental clinic on Fort yukon, Alaska. They flew me out, and we flied in a little caravan.

This is the main road in Fort Yukon. On the right, past the telephone pole is the little market. Everything is way overpriced; sodas are like four to five dollars.

This is the combined medical and dental clinic. I was impressed to see a building like this in a village.

This is one of my outlines...Day one was just the pencil outlines, freehand, and then some of them i got to put the black outlines down.

Day two was mostly spent finishing these two, and outlining the others.

Day three I spent fifteen hours painting, and was able to finish all the others. The next morning i coated them all with varnish.

This little guy was everyones favorite...

Me with the dentist and his assistance. From left to right: Shannon, Ron Adair, Corrina, Me and Sheryl. It took me three days to finish. This is my second Mural ever; the first one on a flat wall. (the first one i did ever was on support beams, to make them look like birth trees, also in  dental clinic).

The ride home, as copilot; well not really, cause he didn't let me drive.

Day four, flying home....

My Final for Color and Design

This is my last project for my color and design class at UAF. It's an Acrylic 24x36". I'm not too impressed with it, but i did bust it out in a week, which is pretty fast for one this size. I think if i had more time I would improve it, but as Picasso said, "A piece of art is never finished, it is only abandoned" or in this case due, so I'll live with it. I hope it goes well, cause it's a whopping 40% of my grade.... yikes!

This one's my favorite! It's my table, but it has kind of become my pallet, and a work of art in itself.
